I don't think regular ones can, I know regular rubber trees leaves can drop the saplings for these, but I dont believe a regular sapling can grow into these. Feb 02, interestingly enough, the mega rubber saps/trees have not been banned until now as they really haven't been/caused an issue up to this point.

modsauce is fairly low-flow. redwoods are potentially more"dangerous" as they drop roots, and then there are sacred oaks, twilight oaks, etc for the most part, mostly useless trees.

It can be found in Dungeon Chests and obtained from harvesting the leaves of a Rubber Tree, which it will grow if planted. the tree grows best in swamp areas, but can also be found in other biomes.

The Rubber tree can be harvested for Rubber, which drops along with Rubber Wood at about the same rate, which can be increased using an Axe imbued with the Fortune enchant. Block Breakers and Mining Turtles can cut down Rubber Trees, but resin will not drop this way.

Right now, the only way to automate Rubber production from Rubber Trees is to grow and harvest the wood itself and extract the Rubber from the Rubber Wood directly. This is incredibly slow and low yield, since saplings cannot be automatically bonemealed to grow, so you have to wait for the trees to grow naturally which could take several days, and one Rubber Wood.
