Jun 12, Removing Tree Rings # Asked June 12,PM EDT I have several good sized trees (Elms and Japanese Maples) that were planted yrs ago, when I planted them I put tree rings around them filled with stone (didn't know better) recently I've been told how bad it can be and the trees have grown quite large.
